One of the most popular places to visit along the Jordan River is the spot where it is believed that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. This spot, known as “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”, is located near the modern-day city of Jericho and is considered to be the place where Jesus began his public ministry. Visitors can take a dip in the river and even be baptized in the same spot where Jesus was.

The Jordan River is also home to several other important historical and religious sites, including the ancient city of Pella, where it is believed that Jesus and his disciples fled to escape persecution, and the ruins of the ancient city of Jerash, which was a major center of trade and commerce during the Roman period.
